WinSetView is a free, open-source portable utility designed to globally set and lock default folder views in Windows File Explorer. Created by developer LesFerch, it resolves a notorious, long-standing Windows bug where custom folder views randomly reset or fail to apply across multiple folders.

The software can be downloaded directly from the official WinSetView GitHub Repository. Core Functionality

Unlike native Windows settings that only apply view changes to a single folder type at a time, WinSetView completely overrides defaults globally.

Registry-Based Operation: It functions by clearing corrupt layout logs and injecting clean values into native FolderTypes registry keys.

Zero System Bloat: The software does not modify Windows system files, install background services, or consume permanent system RAM.

Universal Application: It configures layout defaults across all special folder types, including General Items, Downloads, Pictures, OneDrive, Search Results, and standard File Open/Save dialog boxes. Key Features LesFerch/WinSetView: Globally Set Explorer Folder Views
